The 24Fiber MPO/MTP Assembly Application in 120G CXP to 3x40G QSFP

The CXP transceivers are designed for data centers, supporting 12 paralleled channels(24channel in total) with rate 1Gb/s to 10Gb/s, while QSFP+ modules are one of common plug and play ports(8channel) to support the compatibility between singlemode and multimode fiber, it has three types including 40G LR QSFP+, 40G SR QSFP+ and 40G LR parallel single mode transceivers, Between them, the 40G SR4 QSFP+ transceiver is compliant with 802.3ba D3.2 (40GBASE-SR) standard, which can connect with MPO/MTP connector to realize the 40G optical transmission.
MPO/MTP are the connectors in small size for high density solution environment such as FTTX and 40/100g SFP transceiver and equipment interconnection. The MPO/MTP assembly can be have various configuration with different type cables counts and cable length, their standard insertion loss less than 0.7dB, or higher standard less than 0.35dB. The cable can be in ribbon or bundle. In data center, 40GBASE-SR4 QSFP+ transceivers can work with OM3/OM4 MPO/MTP connectors to achieve 100M(OM3) and 150M(OM4) transmission and realize the interconnection between two Ethernet.
Above information indicates the CXP modules are having multiple ports compared with the QSFP transceivers’, referring to the TIA-568-C.0-2-2012 Generic Telecommunications Cabling for Customer Premises Addendum 2 , we can use a MPO/MTP 24fiber to 3x8fiber MPO/MTP assembly, the 24fiber MPO connector connect with CXP, while the 3 8fiber MPO/MTP connecting the 3 QSFP 40G transceivers to realize long distance low loss and high performance connection.
