Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing Equipment Troubleshooting
With the commissioning and expansion of dense wavelength division multiplexing equipment in various backbone communications. Backbone network will use dense wavelength division multiplexing equipment as the main bearer channel for 10 Gigabit metropolitan area networks, NGN bearer networks, the backbone enterprise network and other important services to provide large-capacity, more stable and protected bearer channels. However, if a fault causes a circuit interruption, it will affect the above-mentioned multiple important services at the same time, so how to quickly and accurately locate and deal with the fault of the wavelength division equipment become the top priority.
Common methods of fault processing for dense wavelength division multiplexing
1. Alarm performance analysis method
Query the current or historical alarm and performance event data of the transmission system through the network management, check the current operating status of the device through the cabinet and board operation indicator and alarm indicator status
2. Instrument test method
The “MON” port of M40, D40, OAU, OBU and other boards can be tested with the main channel spectrum online or with a spectrum analyzer. If all the services of the main channel is affected, focus on analyzing the spectrum of OAU and OBU; if only one service in the main channel is damaged,, focus on analyzing the spectrum of M40 and D40.
3. Loopback method
Locating the fault point by software loopback on the board is the most common and direct fault location method. It does not rely on a large number of alarms and performance data in-depth analysis.
4. Reset or Restart
Under some special circumstances, through resetting, plugging and unplugging the board, single station power off and restarting, and re-delivering the configuration, it can effectively eliminate the fault and restore the business in time
