Fiber Optic Splice Closure Sealing in Cable Installation
1 Sealing of the fiber optic splice closure
(1) Clean the sealing groove around the joint box with alcohol cotton/wipes.
(2) Insert the sealing strip into the sealing groove of the lower half of the joint box. The sealing strip should be tightly attached to the groove.
(3) the unused fiber port wrapped with a sealant. The height of the sealant should not be too high, and the height should be slightly higher than the cross block of the plug by 2-3mm.
2 Assembly of the splice closure
(1) Insert splice optical cable fixed bracket into the downside part of the splice closure steadily. The optical cable between the brackets should be in a natural state without torque, so that the optical cable should not be too twisted to damage the optical fiber.
(2) Fasten the upper and down side of the splice closure. During this process, repeatedly check the whether has fiber movement which stored inside the splice box to prevent the case from crushing the optical fiber.
3 Tightening of the bolts of the joint box
When tightening the box bolts, tighten them in the order of first the middle and then the two sides diagonally.
4 Recycling of site cleaning tools
After the operation is completed, the operation site should be cleaned up to check whether the tool is missing or not, and the tool should be recycled
5 Placement of reserved cable and splice closure
The reserved optical cable should be coiled into a circle with a diameter of not less than 1M and placed in the connector pit. When placing the reserved optical cable, it should be operated by two people to avoid cable twist. After placing the reserved optical cable, wrap the splice closure with plastic cloth and place it in middle of the reserved optical cable circle. When burying the joint pit, be careful not to throw large stones into the pit to avoid damaging the optical cable and the box
